Kelly Leung is an independent hairstylist who works out of the Epic Total Salon, owned by Greg Fry. Leung was a student of Fry’s at the Paul Mitchel Hair School.
Leung is an independent hairstylist, meaning she does not work for Epic Total Salon. She rents a booth from them and that is all which allows her to schedule her own appointments.
On a normal day, Leung wakes up early, gets her two children ready for school, takes them to school and works out all before she gets to work at 8 a.m.

Leung is considered one of the better hairstylists in Memphis. It is hard to get an appointment with her, because she is always booked at least a week in advance and she has a good number of repeat customers that she takes of first.
“She’s a very progressive, professional booth- renting hairstylist at the salon, so an independent contractor, said Fry. “She’s one of the only stylists who books her own appointments. Everyone else uses the front desk, Kelly takes care of her own book. She makes her own schedule, her own hours, she sets her own prices and collects her own money. So, she’s running a business inside my business, and I wish I had a dozen of her.”

Leung thinks a lot about her work, especially in the car after leaving the salon. She really cares that her customers are happy with their hair.
“She’s the greatest,” said Lou Ann Starks. “I love her.”
Despite how great she is at her job, and how many people try to make appointments with her, Leung still cares about that one haircut that didn’t turn out exactly how she wanted it to.
In a way, Leung is a perfectionist, because she admits that she can do exactly what the customer wants done to their hair. However when she feels like she made a mistake, Leung will dwell on her one mistake, and she can’t help but hope her customer is happier than she is with their hair.

Leung takes pride in her work, as we all should. Her dedication and pride in her work are what make her a great hairstylist with a lot of demand for her services, which is great for business.
