About Me

I’m Tripp Vistica. I go by Tripp, because I have the same name as my father and grandfather. I am an alumnus of the 2006 class of Christian Brothers High School (CBHS).

I attended The University of Tennessee – Knoxville (UT) but I was late to decide on my major, so it took me an extra semester to earn my undergraduate degree in Sports Journalism and Multimedia Broadcasting in the Fall of 2011. I had to wait a semester before I could begin my master’s degree program. I used that Spring and Summer Semesters to earn a minor in Statistics after the Summer of 2011. I earned my M.S. degree in Sports Journalism after completing my internship with The VOLNetwork in the Summer of 2012. I am an alumnus of the Pi Kappa Alpha fraternity (Zeta Chapter) at UT.

I have a yellow English Labrador Retriever named Big Orange, but I call him, “BO”, for short. BO is approaching 12 years and a half year’s old. I have had him since he was six weeks old. Thankfully, he still acts half his age.

My interests include the three major sports and golf; football, basketball and baseball, and I love playing, or watching and covering golf. My true passions lie in football and baseball. I love to watch every game I can, and I enjoy commentating on them while they are being played. I hope that I can use my knowledge of these sports to help me later on in my life and career.

I hope at some stage in my career, I can go back to CBHS and teach an elective Sports Journalism and Broadcasting course, start a Sports Media Club to give a glimpse to fellow “Brother’s Boys” what a career in sports media entails. I want to be an assistant coach for the CBHS Baseball team under the legendary manager, Coach Buster Kelso’s leadership. I hope to help Coach Kelso and The Brothers of CBHS add more State Championship’s to their already long list of State Titles, including the four Championships I won playing for Coach Kelso. Starting Varsity as a freshman in 2003, sophomore in 2004, junior 2005, and an undefeated senior season in 2006.

I played, the outfield, mostly Centerfield as a freshman. Shortstop and Secondary Catcher as a sophomore, junior, and senior. In my senior year, I became took over the pitching roll as our Closer. I was the lead-off batter from the beginning of my sophomore year through my senior year. In my sophomore and junior year’s, I played Shortstop with former MLB and University of Arkansas standout player, Logan Forsythe, as our second baseman.
